Support Local Artists: A Tribute to The Citadel

To all the men, women and children that were part of any Citadel production this season… BRAVO! I had the pleasure of viewing 5 shows: Death of a Salesman, The Rock Horror Show, God of Carnage, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and The Sound of Music. What an eclectic mix! From dramas to comedies to musicals, each show was equally entertaining and fascinating! The acting and vocals were astounding, the set and costume design were fabulous and the special effects were magnificent! Each production could not run smoothly without the hard work of many actors, stagehands, directors, and various other crew members. Live theatre truly is incredible and experiencing each of these plays in one of the intimate theatres at the Citadel was definitely worth-while. In my opinion, the Citadel is one of Edmonton’s best treasures!

Fringeopolis

The Fringe is back in Edmonton and it’s one of my favorite summer festivals! With live original theatre performances occuring daily (from improvs to comedies to dramas) there’s always something to see and all shows are $10-$15 a ticket. If you aren’t into watching plays, you can always just wander the grounds in Old Strathcona, have a bite to eat, and catch a street performer act here and there.
